In this match, De Bruyne led the midfield, with Alvarez starting up front and Harland coming on as a substitute. The first half kicked off with less than a minute to go before City came close to breaking through, with Mahrez playing back out wide to the right and Phillips stopping in the middle of the field to adjust his pace before blasting a powerful right-footed shot that hit the crossbar hard. Mahrez then assisted Foden to score. Alvarez added a second goal in the second half, assisted by Foden. Finally, De Bruyne scored from distance to seal the win.

There were a few hiccups at the end when there was a clash between the B bench and the opposition, but things soon settled down and the curtain came down on the full time match. In the end, City beat Bristol City 3-0 away from home to progress to the last eight of the FA Cup.

This tournament saw a return to form for Foden, who played his best performance of the season today.
