Ireland head coach Andy Farrell has named uncapped hooker Diarmuid Barron in the Ireland squad for the Rugby World Cup warm-up match against Samoa at Stade Jean Dauger on 26 August.
The move comes amid growing concerns over the fitness of Dan Sheehan, who suffered a foot injury in last weekend's warm-up win over England.
While Sheehan works on his recovery, David Kilcoyne (hamstring injury) and Jack Conan (foot injury) remain in Dublin, working on their injury rehabilitation.
After victories over Italy and England, Ireland will face Samoa this weekend in a crucial prelude to their Rugby World Cup campaign, before taking on Romania at the Matmut Atlantique on 9 September.
